We had the pleasure of meeting Bernhard and Carina from Durham Coffee Roaster at their roastery at the Sacriston Industrial Estate in Durham.

The welcoming father-and-daughter duo made us feel at home right from the start. It's a no-brainer that their love for coffee, the hospitality industry background, and desire to make everything personal led the duo to build their dream micro-roastery that comes with a unique story.

Growing up in Austria and South Germany, coffee became integral to their life's journey. Stemming from the cherished "Kaffee und Kuchen" culture in Germany, which symbolises precious moments spent with family and friends, savouring each other's company, the connection has become essential to their ethos, inspiring their slogan: "Cherish the Moments - Savour the Taste!"

Carina's skills in art come in handy when designing captivating and visually appealing advertisements, logos, and promotional materials for the business and other projects. Her artistic flair and creativity add a unique and personal touch to every design she creates.

Their passion for coffee is a delightful story constantly evolving into an adventure for the senses, an experience shared with customers and everyone they meet.
