How Coffee Nerdery Collective works
Coffee Nerdery Collective is a curated marketplace that connects coffee buyers directly with independent speciality coffee roasters. When you place an order through the Collective, your purchase is fulfilled by the individual roaster, not by Coffee Nerdery.
Coffee Nerdery acts solely as a marketplace intermediary. We do not take ownership of, handle, or dispatch any products at any point.
Responsibility for returns and refunds
All returns, refunds, and complaints relating to your order are the sole responsibility of the roaster from whom you purchased. Each roaster on the Collective operates independently and maintains their own returns and refund policy.
Before completing your purchase, we encourage you to review the roaster's individual returns policy, available on their storefront page within the Collective or on their websites.
Coffee Nerdery accepts no liability for the quality, condition, or delivery of products sold by roasters on the Collective, and is not responsible for issuing refunds or accepting returned goods on behalf of any roaster.
Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Your rights are enforceable directly against the roaster as the seller of the goods.
Where goods are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, you are entitled to a remedy from the roaster in accordance with applicable UK consumer law.
Raising a concern or dispute
If you have a problem with your order, your first step should be to contact the roaster directly. Their contact details are available on their storefront page and in your order confirmation.
If you are unable to reach the roaster, or if your concern has not been resolved within a reasonable time, you may contact us at collective@coffeenerdery.co and we will make reasonable efforts to facilitate communication between you and the roaster.
Please note that Coffee Nerdery does not guarantee a specific outcome. Any mediation we offer is provided as a goodwill gesture only and does not create any financial liability for Coffee Nerdery.
Perishable goods
Speciality coffee is a perishable product. As a general principle, roasters on the Collective are unlikely to accept returns of coffee that has been opened, partially consumed, or stored improperly. This is consistent with standard practice for food and perishable goods under UK consumer law.
Returns of unopened, incorrectly dispatched, or damaged goods remain subject to the individual roaster's policy and applicable statutory rights.
Cancellations
Once an order has been placed and accepted by a roaster, cancellations are at the roaster's discretion. Many roasters begin roasting to order promptly after purchase, which may limit cancellation options.
If you wish to cancel an order, contact the roaster as soon as possible via the details in your order confirmation.
Delivery issues
Delivery is arranged by each roaster using their own chosen carrier. Coffee Nerdery is not responsible for delivery timescales, losses in transit, or carrier failures.
If your order has not arrived within the estimated delivery window, please contact the roaster in the first instance.
