How does delivery work?

Every roaster on Coffee Nerdery ships your coffee directly to you, usually roasted to order. So delivery is charged per roaster, and free delivery thresholds apply per roaster too, not across your whole basket. Order from three roasters, and each delivery is counted separately.

We know that feels unfamiliar, because the ‘everything store’ trained us all to expect free shipping on everything. But that "free" was never really free; it’s paid for by scale that small roasters can’t replicate, and margins squeezed from suppliers. Coffee Nerdery takes nothing from your postage. Every penny goes to the roaster to cover the cost of getting your coffee to you. Paying it directly is a small act of support for an independent business doing one thing exceptionally well.

What to Expect

This is a rare nanolot from Peru's Finca El Morito, processed through 72-hour anaerobic fermentation and a 30-day extended natural dry. The Marsellesa variety (a Catimor hybrid that punches well above its genetic weight) delivers blueberry and citrus fruit with a creamy body that softens the intensity.

The Cup

The body sits medium to heavy, with a creamy, rounded mouthfeel that carries the fruit without overwhelming it. Acidity is bright and citric, leaning tart but not sharp, thanks to the extended fermentation smoothing the edges. This is a fruit-forward cup with noticeable fermented character. The blueberry note is pronounced, bordering on jammy, and the anaerobic process brings a subtle boozy undertone. It's clean enough to avoid full funk territory, but this is not a neutral coffee. If you're used to washed Peruvians, this will surprise you.

Who This Is For

This suits adventurous filter drinkers who enjoy fruit-driven coffees and aren't put off by a bit of ferment character. The medium roast makes it approachable, but the anaerobic process keeps it interesting.

If you prefer a clean, straightforward cup or find natural-processed coffees too intense, this one will push your boundaries.

Best for: Fruit-loving filter drinkers who want something unusual without going full experimental.

How to Brew This Coffee

A V60 will give you the clarity to appreciate the anaerobic fermentation's unusual character and separate the blueberry from the citrus. Filter methods work well for this medium roast, balancing the fruit intensity with the creamy body. An Aeropress offers flexibility: shorter brews emphasise the body and sweetness, while longer extractions bring out more of the bright, fruity acidity.

It’s a great privilage to have this amazing coffee back in the roastery for the second year. Last year this proved to be one of the fastest selling coffees of the year, and I know many people are looking forward to it being back! A rare nanolot from the highlands of Peru, this...

Bell's Beans

Bell’s Beans is a family-run speciality coffee roastery based in Surrey, founded by Chris after leaving a career in engineering to pursue his passion for coffee. What began as home-roasting experiments on a small Gene Cafe machine soon evolved into a micro-roastery built alongside his home, where he combines an engineering mindset with a deep curiosity for the science and variability of coffee roasting. Bell’s Beans focuses exclusively on speciality-grade coffees sourced through ethical importers and producers who support farmers and their communities, with a preference for quality and transparency over scale. Intentionally remaining small and independent, the roastery prioritises craftsmanship, seasonal coffees, and selective partnerships, reflecting a philosophy of modesty while consistently refining its pursuit of excellent coffee.
