How does delivery work?

Every roaster on Coffee Nerdery ships your coffee directly to you, usually roasted to order. So delivery is charged per roaster, and free delivery thresholds apply per roaster too, not across your whole basket. Order from three roasters, and each delivery is counted separately.

We know that feels unfamiliar, because the ‘everything store’ trained us all to expect free shipping on everything. But that "free" was never really free; it’s paid for by scale that small roasters can’t replicate, and margins squeezed from suppliers. Coffee Nerdery takes nothing from your postage. Every penny goes to the roaster to cover the cost of getting your coffee to you. Paying it directly is a small act of support for an independent business doing one thing exceptionally well.

What to Expect

This Peruvian washed coffee from Andres Bazos delivers a clean, approachable cup with orange citrus brightness, caramel sweetness, and milk chocolate depth. It's what the roaster calls a 'coffee coffee' — the kind that works across brew methods without fuss and won't polarise your palate.

The Cup

Medium body with a round, smooth mouthfeel that sits comfortably between light and heavy. The acidity is moderate and citric — present enough to keep things lively but not sharp or tart. This is a clean cup, despite the anaerobic double fermentation process used at origin. That processing adds a touch of sweetness and complexity without tipping into funky or wine-like territory. You get clarity and balance, not experimentation.

Who This Is For

This suits drinkers who want something reliable and flavourful without chasing extremes. It's a solid daily coffee that won't tire you out.

If you're after something delicate and tea-like, or intensely fruity and funky, this won't deliver that. It's straightforward, not showy.

Best for: Daily drinkers who want a balanced, versatile coffee that tastes good however you make it.

How to Brew This Coffee

The medium roast and balanced profile make this flexible. Try it as espresso where the caramel and chocolate notes come forward with good body and approachable sweetness. It works beautifully in a V60 or other filter methods to highlight the orange citrus brightness while keeping the cup clean and structured. For a heavier, more textured brew that emphasises the chocolate and body, reach for your French press.

We enhance these descriptions ourselves and check them by hand, but mistakes can happen. The roaster's own wording is shown below. If anything arrives not as described, contact us and we'll put it right.

Description from Roaster

Llave de Oro is the first of four Peru lots at Bell’s beans this year. This being a great example of a slightly higher production volume, compared to the others, but still keeping great quality. Being a washed coffee, although going though some unique processing to the region,...

Ways to Brew

  • Espresso

    Espresso

An intense, concentrated brewing method that forces hot water through finely-ground coffee under high pressure. This produces a small, powerful shot with rich crema, serving as the foundation for countless coffee drinks while delivering bold flavors and aromatic complexity.

  • V60

    V60

V60 is a popular Japanese, cone-shaped pour-over coffee dripper designed for brewing clean, aromatic, and flavorful coffee. Known for its 60-degree angle, large single hole, and internal spiral ribs, it optimises water flow for a precise, quick, and customisable brewing process, typically 2-3 minutes.

  • French Press

    French Press

A French Press (or Cafetiere) is a simple, manual coffee maker that brews rich, full-bodied coffee by steeping coarse grounds in hot water, then separating them by pressing a mesh filter down with a plunger, allowing the coffee's natural oils and sediment to remain for a bolder flavour.

Bell's Beans

Bell’s Beans is a family-run speciality coffee roastery based in Surrey, founded by Chris after leaving a career in engineering to pursue his passion for coffee. What began as home-roasting experiments on a small Gene Cafe machine soon evolved into a micro-roastery built alongside his home, where he combines an engineering mindset with a deep curiosity for the science and variability of coffee roasting. Bell’s Beans focuses exclusively on speciality-grade coffees sourced through ethical importers and producers who support farmers and their communities, with a preference for quality and transparency over scale. Intentionally remaining small and independent, the roastery prioritises craftsmanship, seasonal coffees, and selective partnerships, reflecting a philosophy of modesty while consistently refining its pursuit of excellent coffee.
