How does delivery work?

Every roaster on Coffee Nerdery ships your coffee directly to you, usually roasted to order. So delivery is charged per roaster, and free delivery thresholds apply per roaster too, not across your whole basket. Order from three roasters, and each delivery is counted separately.

We know that feels unfamiliar, because the ‘everything store’ trained us all to expect free shipping on everything. But that "free" was never really free; it’s paid for by scale that small roasters can’t replicate, and margins squeezed from suppliers. Coffee Nerdery takes nothing from your postage. Every penny goes to the roaster to cover the cost of getting your coffee to you. Paying it directly is a small act of support for an independent business doing one thing exceptionally well.

What to Expect

This is classic Kenyan coffee done right. Kenya Kaganga from Muranga County delivers the tart, juicy brightness you want from the Central Highlands, with blackcurrant and grapefruit leading the charge and a thread of vanilla sweetness to keep things balanced.

The Cup

The body is juicy and medium weight, with that sparkling mouthfeel Kenyan coffees are known for. Acidity is high and citric, bright without being harsh. This is a clean, washed-process cup with no funk or ferment character, just pure origin expression. The SL28 and SL34 varieties bring complexity, while the light-medium roast keeps the fruit notes front and centre.

Who This Is For

If you love bright, fruit-forward filter coffees or want an espresso that wakes up your palate rather than soothes it, this is your coffee. It's for drinkers who appreciate acidity as a feature, not a flaw.

If you prefer chocolatey, low-acid, smooth cups, this one will challenge you.

Best for: Filter and espresso drinkers who want classic Kenyan brightness and complexity.

How to Brew This Coffee

A V60 will give you maximum clarity and let the blackcurrant and grapefruit notes shine with precision. Filter methods like Chemex or drip offer a slightly rounder, more forgiving cup while still highlighting the fruit. As espresso, expect a bright, juicy shot with pronounced acidity that cuts through milk beautifully or stands up solo if you like intensity.

Ways to Brew

  • V60

    V60

V60 is a popular Japanese, cone-shaped pour-over coffee dripper designed for brewing clean, aromatic, and flavorful coffee. Known for its 60-degree angle, large single hole, and internal spiral ribs, it optimises water flow for a precise, quick, and customisable brewing process, typically 2-3 minutes.

  • Filter

    Filter

A filter coffee machine (or drip coffee maker) is an often electric kitchen appliance that brews coffee by heating water, passing it through ground coffee and a filter, and dripping the finished brew into a carafe.

  • Espresso

    Espresso

An intense, concentrated brewing method that forces hot water through finely-ground coffee under high pressure. This produces a small, powerful shot with rich crema, serving as the foundation for countless coffee drinks while delivering bold flavors and aromatic complexity.
