How does delivery work?

Every roaster on Coffee Nerdery ships your coffee directly to you, usually roasted to order. So delivery is charged per roaster, and free delivery thresholds apply per roaster too, not across your whole basket. Order from three roasters, and each delivery is counted separately.

We know that feels unfamiliar, because the ‘everything store’ trained us all to expect free shipping on everything. But that "free" was never really free; it’s paid for by scale that small roasters can’t replicate, and margins squeezed from suppliers. Coffee Nerdery takes nothing from your postage. Every penny goes to the roaster to cover the cost of getting your coffee to you. Paying it directly is a small act of support for an independent business doing one thing exceptionally well.

What to Expect

This is Timor Leste's quiet introduction to the specialty scene, and it's a gentle one. Cristo Liurai from the Letefoho region delivers a clean, delicate cup that sits somewhere between floral tea and honeyed sweetness, with just enough chocolate to keep things grounded.

The Cup

The body is light to medium and tea-like, with a silky mouthfeel that doesn't weigh you down. Acidity is moderate and malic, more pear and stone fruit than citrus punch. This is a clean, washed coffee with no funk or ferment character — the Typica and Timor Hybrid varieties at 1500–1600 metres have produced clarity and balance rather than fireworks. Jasmine and honey come through on the nose and finish, while a subtle chocolate note adds structure without dominating.

Who This Is For

This suits drinkers who appreciate delicate, floral coffees but want a bit more body and sweetness than a high-altitude Ethiopian. It's approachable without being boring.

If you're after bold, fruit-forward acidity or heavy, chocolatey richness, this won't deliver either extreme.

Best for: Filter drinkers who like clean, balanced cups with floral and honey sweetness.

How to Brew This Coffee

A V60 will highlight the jasmine and pear notes while preserving the tea-like clarity. Filter methods like Kalita Wave or Chemex work beautifully for the same reason, offering a clean, nuanced extraction. If you prefer a rounder, slightly fuller body, an Aeropress with a longer steep will bring out the honey and chocolate without losing the delicate character.

Ways to Brew

  • V60

    V60

V60 is a popular Japanese, cone-shaped pour-over coffee dripper designed for brewing clean, aromatic, and flavorful coffee. Known for its 60-degree angle, large single hole, and internal spiral ribs, it optimises water flow for a precise, quick, and customisable brewing process, typically 2-3 minutes.

  • Filter

    Filter

A filter coffee machine (or drip coffee maker) is an often electric kitchen appliance that brews coffee by heating water, passing it through ground coffee and a filter, and dripping the finished brew into a carafe.

  • Aeropress

    Aeropress

An innovative, portable brewing device that uses air pressure to extract coffee quickly and efficiently. This versatile method allows for experimentation with brewing times and techniques, producing anything from espresso-style concentrates to smooth, full-flavored cups with remarkable consistency.
