How does delivery work?

Every roaster on Coffee Nerdery ships your coffee directly to you, usually roasted to order. So delivery is charged per roaster, and free delivery thresholds apply per roaster too, not across your whole basket. Order from three roasters, and each delivery is counted separately.

We know that feels unfamiliar, because the ‘everything store’ trained us all to expect free shipping on everything. But that "free" was never really free; it’s paid for by scale that small roasters can’t replicate, and margins squeezed from suppliers. Coffee Nerdery takes nothing from your postage. Every penny goes to the roaster to cover the cost of getting your coffee to you. Paying it directly is a small act of support for an independent business doing one thing exceptionally well.

What to Expect

This Mexican coffee from Oaxaca's Sierra Mazateca brings warmth and complexity in equal measure. Expect dried apricot sweetness, gentle spice, and brown sugar depth — a comforting cup with enough character to keep you interested.

The Cup

The body sits comfortably in the medium range, with a round, smooth mouthfeel that doesn't weigh you down. Acidity is moderate and soft — more malic than citric, lending a gentle brightness rather than a sharp edge. The washed process keeps things clean and approachable, with no funk or ferment character to navigate. The Typica and Bourbon varieties, grown between 1400 and 1900 metres, deliver sweetness and balance without shouting for attention.

Who This Is For

This suits drinkers who want complexity without intensity — those who appreciate nuance but don't need fireworks in the cup. It's versatile enough for daily drinking but interesting enough to slow down for.

If you're chasing bright, fruit-forward acidity or delicate floral notes, this won't deliver that. It's warmer and rounder than that.

Best for: Drinkers who like balanced, approachable coffees with enough depth to reward attention.

How to Brew This Coffee

The omni roast makes this flexible across methods. Try it as filter to let the dried fruit and spice notes unfold clearly, or dial it in for espresso where the brown sugar sweetness and medium body will shine through with good texture. An Aeropress works well too, giving you control over body and clarity depending on your mood.

We enhance these descriptions ourselves and check them by hand, but mistakes can happen. The roaster's own wording is shown below. If anything arrives not as described, contact us and we'll put it right.

Description from Roaster

We love this Mexican coffee for it's comforting but complex cup, a very autumnal feeling brew with notes of dried apricot, spices and brown sugar. Roasted OMNI it's versatile for espresso and filter too.

Ways to Brew

  • Filter

    Filter

A filter coffee machine (or drip coffee maker) is an often electric kitchen appliance that brews coffee by heating water, passing it through ground coffee and a filter, and dripping the finished brew into a carafe.

  • Espresso

    Espresso

An intense, concentrated brewing method that forces hot water through finely-ground coffee under high pressure. This produces a small, powerful shot with rich crema, serving as the foundation for countless coffee drinks while delivering bold flavors and aromatic complexity.

  • Aeropress

    Aeropress

An innovative, portable brewing device that uses air pressure to extract coffee quickly and efficiently. This versatile method allows for experimentation with brewing times and techniques, producing anything from espresso-style concentrates to smooth, full-flavored cups with remarkable consistency.
