How does delivery work?

Every roaster on Coffee Nerdery ships your coffee directly to you, usually roasted to order. So delivery is charged per roaster, and free delivery thresholds apply per roaster too, not across your whole basket. Order from three roasters, and each delivery is counted separately.

We know that feels unfamiliar, because the ‘everything store’ trained us all to expect free shipping on everything. But that "free" was never really free; it’s paid for by scale that small roasters can’t replicate, and margins squeezed from suppliers. Coffee Nerdery takes nothing from your postage. Every penny goes to the roaster to cover the cost of getting your coffee to you. Paying it directly is a small act of support for an independent business doing one thing exceptionally well.

What to Expect

This is a natural-processed Peruvian espresso from Marcelino Chinguel that tastes like a sweet shop exploded in your cup. The rhubarb sharpness cuts through even in milk, backed by candy-like sweetness and a playful, fizzy brightness that earns the popping candy comparison.

The Cup

Medium body with a juicy, almost effervescent mouthfeel. The acidity is bright and tart, driven by that distinctive rhubarb character — malic and sharp, but not aggressive. This is a clean natural, not a funky one. The fermented fruit sweetness is there, but it leans more towards confectionery than wine. The Marshel variety and high altitude (1800-1900 MASL) keep things lively and complex, while the natural process amplifies the candy-like sweetness without tipping into boozy territory.

Who This Is For

Adventurous espresso drinkers who want something genuinely unusual and sweet-forward. If you like your coffee to surprise you and don't mind a sharp, fruity edge cutting through your milk drinks, this delivers.

If you prefer chocolatey, smooth, low-acid espresso, this will feel too sharp and playful for your taste.

Best for: Espresso lovers chasing unusual, fruit-forward profiles that hold their own in milk.

How to Brew This Coffee

Roasted for espresso, this is where the rhubarb sharpness and candy sweetness really shine, especially as a long black or flat white. It works brilliantly on Aeropress too, where you can dial in the brightness and body to taste. If you want to explore the natural process character with more clarity, try it on V60 — the playful acidity and sweetness will come forward without the intensity of espresso extraction.

Description from Roaster

A very unique espresso experience, the sharpness of the rhubarb note really comes through, even in milk. A playful coffee bursting with sweetness and your favourite sweet-shop flavours.  We love this as a long black, but it works well with milks and on aeropress too!

Ways to Brew

  • Espresso

    Espresso

An intense, concentrated brewing method that forces hot water through finely-ground coffee under high pressure. This produces a small, powerful shot with rich crema, serving as the foundation for countless coffee drinks while delivering bold flavors and aromatic complexity.

  • Aeropress

    Aeropress

An innovative, portable brewing device that uses air pressure to extract coffee quickly and efficiently. This versatile method allows for experimentation with brewing times and techniques, producing anything from espresso-style concentrates to smooth, full-flavored cups with remarkable consistency.

  • V60

    V60

V60 is a popular Japanese, cone-shaped pour-over coffee dripper designed for brewing clean, aromatic, and flavorful coffee. Known for its 60-degree angle, large single hole, and internal spiral ribs, it optimises water flow for a precise, quick, and customisable brewing process, typically 2-3 minutes.
