What to Expect
Eccentric from Magnetic North Coffee brings classic Colombian balance with a fruity edge. Grown at 1860 metres in Tolima and taken to a medium roast, this washed coffee delivers morello cherry sweetness backed by chocolate and brown sugar warmth.
The Cup
The body sits comfortably in the medium range with a round, approachable mouthfeel that works well with or without milk. Acidity is moderate and malic, giving the cherry notes a gentle brightness without any sharp edges. The washed process keeps everything clean and origin-forward, letting the altitude and careful picking shine through without funk or ferment character. It's straightforward in the best sense.
Who This Is For
This suits drinkers who want something versatile and reliably sweet without venturing into experimental territory. It's a solid everyday coffee that won't surprise you, but won't disappoint either.
If you're chasing high-acidity, tea-like brightness or funky natural-process character, this won't deliver that.
Best for: Everyday drinkers who want balanced sweetness and flexibility across brew methods.
How to Brew This Coffee
The medium roast and balanced profile make this work well as filter, where the cherry and chocolate notes separate cleanly. It's equally at home in a French press, which emphasises the round body and brown sugar sweetness. For milk drinkers, espresso brings out the chocolate and caramel without losing the fruit entirely.

MEET THE PRODUCERS
Leoncio Maceto, a coffee grower from Ortega, Tolima, is 41 years old and owns the Las Brisas farm located in the Alto Guayabos vereda. The farm spans 6 hectares, with 3.6 hectares dedicated to coffee cultivation at an altitude of 1,860 meters. He cultivates several varieties including Colombia, Castillo Tambo, Pink Bourbon and Catimore.
The coffee process is fully washed, with cherries meticulously sorted to ensure only perfectly ripe ones are used. Leoncio is very selective about his pickers, compensating them well to ensure only fully ripe cherries are harvested. The picking cycle occurs every 8 days. The drying process involves using a parabolic solar dryer, where an ideal 3cm layer of coffee is maintained to ensure even and slow drying.

Ways to Brew
-
Filter
A filter coffee machine (or drip coffee maker) is an often electric kitchen appliance that brews coffee by heating water, passing it through ground coffee and a filter, and dripping the finished brew into a carafe.
-
French Press
A French Press (or Cafetiere) is a simple, manual coffee maker that brews rich, full-bodied coffee by steeping coarse grounds in hot water, then separating them by pressing a mesh filter down with a plunger, allowing the coffee's natural oils and sediment to remain for a bolder flavour.
-
Espresso
An intense, concentrated brewing method that forces hot water through finely-ground coffee under high pressure. This produces a small, powerful shot with rich crema, serving as the foundation for countless coffee drinks while delivering bold flavors and aromatic complexity.
