What to Expect
A decaf that doesn't taste like compromise. Magnetic North's Euphoric brings chocolate and almond to the front, with a whisper of citrus brightness that reminds you this is Colombian single-origin, not just 'the decaf option'.
The Cup
The body is medium and round, with a soft, almost creamy mouthfeel that comes from both the EA sugarcane decaffeination process and the medium roast development. Acidity is gentle and citric rather than sharp, present enough to keep things interesting but never demanding attention. This is a clean cup with no funk or ferment character, just straightforward sweetness leaning into chocolate and nut territory. The decaf process has smoothed the edges without flattening the flavour.
Who This Is For
Anyone who wants proper coffee after 2pm, or who's cutting back on caffeine without cutting back on enjoyment. It's approachable enough for milk drinks but interesting enough to drink black.
If you're chasing the bright, complex acidity of a washed Ethiopian or the funky fruit of a natural process, this won't deliver that. It's built for balance, not fireworks.
Best for: Decaf drinkers who want a smooth, chocolatey cup that works any time of day.
How to Brew This Coffee
The medium roast and balanced profile make this flexible across methods. Filter brewing brings out the citrus hints and keeps the cup clean and sweet. Aeropress is your friend if you want a bit more body and control over extraction, coaxing out the chocolate and almond without any bitterness. French Press leans into the fuller body and emphasises the nutty, chocolatey character if you're after something rounder and more comforting.

MEET THE PRODUCERS
Back in 1995, the Bayter Family rolled up their sleeves and dove headfirst into the agricultural scene at El Vergel farm. Avocado was their main squeeze, but when avocado prices took a nosedive in 2006, they knew it was time to shake things up. So, they tossed some coffee varieties into the mix and boom, a coffee empire was born! Fast forward to 2016, and with a little guidance from coffee guru Miguel Jimenez, they planted specialty coffee varieties, setting the stage for some serious coffee greatness. Then, in a stroke of genius, they embraced natural coffee processes in 2018, tinkering with fermentation control like mad scientists in a lab. Meet the dynamic trio behind the scenes: Martha Montenegro, along with her coffee-savvy partners Elias and Shady. Together, they're not just brewing coffee; they're brewing up a whole community revolution! Their mission? To blend tech magic with coffee passion and sprinkle a little extra joy into the lives of everyone at El Vergel Estate. This coffee's process begins with special fermentation to extract unique flavours. The caffeine extraction involves circular containers filled with a blend of water and ethyl acetate, lowering caffeine levels to 0.1%. The outcome is a smooth, flavourful, and highly enjoyable coffee.

Ways to Brew
-
Filter
A filter coffee machine (or drip coffee maker) is an often electric kitchen appliance that brews coffee by heating water, passing it through ground coffee and a filter, and dripping the finished brew into a carafe.
-
Aeropress
An innovative, portable brewing device that uses air pressure to extract coffee quickly and efficiently. This versatile method allows for experimentation with brewing times and techniques, producing anything from espresso-style concentrates to smooth, full-flavored cups with remarkable consistency.
-
French Press
A French Press (or Cafetiere) is a simple, manual coffee maker that brews rich, full-bodied coffee by steeping coarse grounds in hot water, then separating them by pressing a mesh filter down with a plunger, allowing the coffee's natural oils and sediment to remain for a bolder flavour.
