What to Expect
Coach House is Mill Bank Coffee Co.'s signature house blend — a medium-roasted trio of Costa Rica, Colombia, and Myanmar designed to be approachable without being forgettable. You'll find chocolate and caramel sweetness up front, with apricot brightness and a subtle cedar earthiness rounding things out.
The Cup
This is a full-bodied coffee with a syrupy, satisfying mouthfeel that holds up well in milk. The acidity is moderate and bright — more sugary-sweet than sharp — thanks to the Costa Rican and Colombian components. The Myanmar addition brings a gentle earthiness that keeps the cup grounded and prevents it from tipping into one-note sweetness. It's clean overall, with no funky ferment character. The cedar note adds a warm, woody depth without dominating.
Who This Is For
This is for drinkers who want something reliable and well-rounded that works across the day and across brew methods. It's a solid everyday coffee that doesn't demand too much attention but rewards it when you give it.
If you're chasing bright, fruit-forward acidity or experimental processing funk, this won't scratch that itch.
Best for: Everyday drinkers who want balance, body, and a hint of complexity without the fuss.
How to Brew This Coffee
This medium roast is genuinely versatile. Try it as espresso where the full body and chocolate-caramel sweetness will cut through milk beautifully. It also works well in a French press, which emphasises the syrupy body and cedar earthiness. For a cleaner, brighter take that highlights the apricot and caramel, reach for your filter brewer.

Roast: Full City (4/7) (Medium)
Origins: Costa Rica, Colombia, Myanmar
Tasting Notes: Chocolate, Caramel, Apricot and Cedar
Processing Method: VariousStory:
Coach House is our signature house blend. Named after the original use of our roastery! Our aim with this as a house blend was to create a taste that was representative of our roasting style, easy to get on with yet with a memorable character. To do this we started with our best-selling coffee as a base, Costa Rica Hermosa. This provided the 'easy to get on with' aspect. To implement a bit of character, we wanted to use a microlot, the Colombia Inza has many matching tasting notes and has previously paired very well when we used it in our Summer Espresso. Finally, we wanted to make sure the blend had a bit of strength to it, to cut through when added to milk and balance out some of the sweetness from the Colombian, a hint of the Myanmar Moe Htet Estate worked perfectly.
After experimenting with proportions, the end result is something that should be an everyday drinker, a coffee you look forward to waking up for that has a full body, a bright sugary sweetness, and a hint of earthiness to give it roundness.

Ways to Brew
-
Espresso
An intense, concentrated brewing method that forces hot water through finely-ground coffee under high pressure. This produces a small, powerful shot with rich crema, serving as the foundation for countless coffee drinks while delivering bold flavors and aromatic complexity.
-
French Press
A French Press (or Cafetiere) is a simple, manual coffee maker that brews rich, full-bodied coffee by steeping coarse grounds in hot water, then separating them by pressing a mesh filter down with a plunger, allowing the coffee's natural oils and sediment to remain for a bolder flavour.
-
Filter
A filter coffee machine (or drip coffee maker) is an often electric kitchen appliance that brews coffee by heating water, passing it through ground coffee and a filter, and dripping the finished brew into a carafe.
