What to Expect

This Timor-Leste coffee from the Samoro community walks a pleasant line between chocolate richness and gentle citrus brightness. Grown at 1500-1600 metres in Ermera's ideal conditions and fully washed by 11 farmers using traditional methods, it's clean, approachable, and quietly complex.

The Cup

You'll find a medium body with a round, smooth mouthfeel that sits comfortably between tea-like and syrupy. The acidity is moderate and soft, more pomelo than sharp citrus, giving the cup structure without any tartness. This is a clean washed coffee with no funk or ferment character, just straightforward sweetness that lets the dark chocolate and candied fruit notes come through clearly. The Typica and Timor Hybrid varieties deliver that classic coffee elegance without shouting about it.

Who This Is For

Perfect for drinkers who want something interesting but not challenging, with enough character to keep your attention without demanding it. This suits both the curious beginner and the seasoned filter drinker looking for a reliable, well-balanced cup.

If you're chasing bright, fruit-forward acidity or experimental funk, this won't deliver that.

Best for: Daily drinkers who appreciate clean, balanced coffee with gentle complexity.

How to Brew This Coffee

The medium roast and washed process make this versatile across methods. Filter brewing brings out the clarity and lets you taste the balance between chocolate and citrus most clearly. Aeropress is brilliant here because you can adjust your recipe to emphasize either the fruit sweetness or the chocolate depth depending on your mood. French Press leans into the medium body and makes the dark chocolate notes more prominent if that's what you're after.

Ways to Brew

  • Filter

    Filter

A filter coffee machine (or drip coffee maker) is an often electric kitchen appliance that brews coffee by heating water, passing it through ground coffee and a filter, and dripping the finished brew into a carafe.

  • Aeropress

    Aeropress

An innovative, portable brewing device that uses air pressure to extract coffee quickly and efficiently. This versatile method allows for experimentation with brewing times and techniques, producing anything from espresso-style concentrates to smooth, full-flavored cups with remarkable consistency.

  • French Press

    French Press

A French Press (or Cafetiere) is a simple, manual coffee maker that brews rich, full-bodied coffee by steeping coarse grounds in hot water, then separating them by pressing a mesh filter down with a plunger, allowing the coffee's natural oils and sediment to remain for a bolder flavour.
