What to Expect

This Ethiopian Yirgacheffe from the Sidamo region delivers the classic floral-fruity character Ethiopia is known for, with jasmine and citrus leading the way. Grown at 1800 metres and washed to preserve clarity, it's a clean, bright coffee that balances fruit and chocolate without veering into funky territory.

The Cup

Medium body with a silky, approachable mouthfeel that won't overwhelm. The acidity is good and present — citric and malic, giving the cup a lively, refreshing quality without being sharp. This is a clean coffee, not a wild one. The washed process keeps things transparent, letting the heirloom varieties show their floral and berry character clearly. Expect jasmine aromatics, citrus brightness, and a chocolate sweetness that rounds out the finish.

Who This Is For

If you like bright, aromatic coffees with floral notes and a clean finish, this is a reliable choice. It's approachable enough for daily drinking but interesting enough to pay attention to.

If you prefer heavy-bodied, low-acid coffees with chocolate and nut dominance, this will feel too bright and delicate.

Best for: Filter drinkers who want classic Ethiopian character without the funk.

How to Brew This Coffee

A V60 will give you the cleanest expression of the jasmine and citrus notes, with excellent clarity. Filter methods like a Chemex or drip pot will emphasise the floral aromatics and balanced sweetness. French Press works well if you want to bring out the chocolate and add a bit more body to the cup.

    V60

V60 is a popular Japanese, cone-shaped pour-over coffee dripper designed for brewing clean, aromatic, and flavorful coffee. Known for its 60-degree angle, large single hole, and internal spiral ribs, it optimises water flow for a precise, quick, and customisable brewing process, typically 2-3 minutes.

  • Filter

    Filter

A filter coffee machine (or drip coffee maker) is an often electric kitchen appliance that brews coffee by heating water, passing it through ground coffee and a filter, and dripping the finished brew into a carafe.

  • French Press

    French Press

A French Press (or Cafetiere) is a simple, manual coffee maker that brews rich, full-bodied coffee by steeping coarse grounds in hot water, then separating them by pressing a mesh filter down with a plunger, allowing the coffee's natural oils and sediment to remain for a bolder flavour.
