What to Expect
This Guatemalan from the Nueva Granada Estate in San Marcos delivers the classic chocolate-forward character Guatemala is known for, with a smooth, approachable body. Grown between 1400 and 1700 metres, it's a reliable, balanced cup that won't surprise you, but won't disappoint either.
The Cup
Expect a medium body with a round, smooth mouthfeel that coats the palate without heaviness. The acidity is moderate and gentle, more of a background hum than a bright spark. This is a clean, straightforward coffee with chocolate and subtle nutty sweetness at the centre. No funk, no ferment character to navigate. Just honest, well-grown coffee that tastes like what it is.
Who This Is For
This suits drinkers who want consistency and comfort over complexity. If you're after a daily coffee that works across methods and doesn't demand fuss, Monte Rosa fits the bill.
If you're chasing floral highs or fruit-forward brightness, this won't deliver that. It's built for balance, not fireworks.
Best for: Everyday drinkers who prefer chocolate and smoothness over acidity and experimentation.
How to Brew This Coffee
The medium roast profile and balanced character make this versatile. A French Press will emphasise the smooth body and bring out the chocolate richness. Filter methods keep it clean and approachable for morning drinking. It'll also handle espresso well, offering a forgiving extraction with good sweetness and body.

Grown in San Marcos on the Nueva Granada Estate at an altitude of 1400 to 1700 metres above sea level.
Varieties are Caturra, Catuai, Bourbon and Geisha and it is a wet processed coffee. This is a high grown coffee. Coffees that are grown at a higher altitude and are considered to be of a superior quality. The slower growth of higher altitude coffees produces a harder denser bean, that gives a more consistent flavour, rich, smooth and delicious. This is a Rainforest Alliance coffee.

Ways to Brew
-
French Press
A French Press (or Cafetiere) is a simple, manual coffee maker that brews rich, full-bodied coffee by steeping coarse grounds in hot water, then separating them by pressing a mesh filter down with a plunger, allowing the coffee's natural oils and sediment to remain for a bolder flavour.
-
Filter
A filter coffee machine (or drip coffee maker) is an often electric kitchen appliance that brews coffee by heating water, passing it through ground coffee and a filter, and dripping the finished brew into a carafe.
-
Espresso
An intense, concentrated brewing method that forces hot water through finely-ground coffee under high pressure. This produces a small, powerful shot with rich crema, serving as the foundation for countless coffee drinks while delivering bold flavors and aromatic complexity.
