What to Expect
A decaf that doesn't taste like compromise. This Swiss Water Decaf Peruvian from Monsoon Estates delivers chocolate and caramel sweetness with a touch of fruit brightness, all while being 99.9% caffeine-free.
The Cup
Expect a medium body with a smooth, round mouthfeel that leans slightly towards the heavier side. The acidity is gentle and moderate, providing just enough brightness to keep things interesting without any sharp edges. This is a clean cup with no funky ferment character, the Swiss Water process preserves the origin's natural sweetness while softening the overall profile. Caramel and chocolate notes dominate, with a subtle fruity undertone that adds complexity without stealing the show.
Who This Is For
This suits anyone who wants to enjoy coffee later in the day or needs to avoid caffeine but refuses to settle for flat, lifeless decaf. It's approachable, sweet, and forgiving across different brewing methods.
If you're chasing the bright, complex acidity of a high-altitude washed Ethiopian, this won't deliver that intensity. The decaffeination process naturally rounds things out.
Best for: Decaf drinkers who want a sweet, chocolatey cup that works any time of day.
How to Brew This Coffee
A French Press will emphasise the chocolate notes and give you a fuller, more textured cup that plays to the coffee's naturally round character. Filter methods bring out the caramel sweetness and that touch of fruit brightness while keeping things clean and balanced. Aeropress offers flexibility, letting you dial in anywhere from a lighter, tea-like brew to something closer to espresso strength, depending on your mood.

Our latest offering from Swiss Water, this is a lovely, sweet, bright coffee, very caramelly!
Decaffeinated coffee has come a long way since its invention in 1903. Most decaffeination processes employ chemical solvents such as methylene chloride or ethyl acetate to strip caffeine molecules from the green coffee bean.
The Swiss Water Company use water from the coastal mountains of British Columbia to gently remove the caffeine until the coffee beans are 99.9% caffeine-free, while maintaining the bean's distinctive origin and flavour characteristics. You can be sure that no chemicals were used to remove the caffeine from the coffee.
Suits all brew methods.

Ways to Brew
-
French Press
A French Press (or Cafetiere) is a simple, manual coffee maker that brews rich, full-bodied coffee by steeping coarse grounds in hot water, then separating them by pressing a mesh filter down with a plunger, allowing the coffee's natural oils and sediment to remain for a bolder flavour.
-
Filter
A filter coffee machine (or drip coffee maker) is an often electric kitchen appliance that brews coffee by heating water, passing it through ground coffee and a filter, and dripping the finished brew into a carafe.
-
Aeropress
An innovative, portable brewing device that uses air pressure to extract coffee quickly and efficiently. This versatile method allows for experimentation with brewing times and techniques, producing anything from espresso-style concentrates to smooth, full-flavored cups with remarkable consistency.
