How does delivery work?

Every roaster on Coffee Nerdery ships your coffee directly to you, usually roasted to order. So delivery is charged per roaster, and free delivery thresholds apply per roaster too, not across your whole basket. Order from three roasters, and each delivery is counted separately.

We know that feels unfamiliar, because the ‘everything store’ trained us all to expect free shipping on everything. But that "free" was never really free; it’s paid for by scale that small roasters can’t replicate, and margins squeezed from suppliers. Coffee Nerdery takes nothing from your postage. Every penny goes to the roaster to cover the cost of getting your coffee to you. Paying it directly is a small act of support for an independent business doing one thing exceptionally well.

What to Expect

Blue Note Filter is a blend built for reliability. It brings together washed Papua New Guinea and natural Ethiopian coffee in a 40/60 split, landing somewhere between chocolatey comfort and berry brightness without leaning too hard in either direction.

The Cup

The body sits comfortably in the medium range — not heavy, not delicate, with a smooth, rounded mouthfeel that makes it easy to drink daily. Acidity is moderate and approachable, leaning more toward the gentle sweetness of brown sugar and milk chocolate from the PNG component, with the natural Ethiopian adding a soft berry lift rather than sharp citrus. It's clean overall, with just enough fruited character to keep things interesting without tipping into funky or fermented territory. The blend balances the earthy, nutty tendencies of Papua New Guinea with Ethiopia's fruit-forward nature, resulting in a straightforward, crowd-pleasing cup.

Who This Is For

This is for drinkers who want something dependable and versatile — a coffee that works well in the morning rush or a lazy afternoon without demanding too much attention. It's also a good entry point if you're curious about natural-process coffees but not ready for full-on funk.

If you're chasing high-acidity, tea-like clarity or experimental fermentation character, this blend will feel too safe.

Best for: Daily filter drinkers who want balance, sweetness, and a hint of fruit without drama.

How to Brew This Coffee

The medium body and balanced profile make this blend well-suited to V60, where you'll get clean separation between the chocolate and berry notes. It's equally at home in a Filter setup like a batch brewer or Chemex, where the rounded sweetness shines through with minimal fuss. For a fuller, more textured cup that emphasises body over clarity, reach for your French Press.

Ways to Brew

  • V60

    V60

V60 is a popular Japanese, cone-shaped pour-over coffee dripper designed for brewing clean, aromatic, and flavorful coffee. Known for its 60-degree angle, large single hole, and internal spiral ribs, it optimises water flow for a precise, quick, and customisable brewing process, typically 2-3 minutes.

  • Filter

    Filter

A filter coffee machine (or drip coffee maker) is an often electric kitchen appliance that brews coffee by heating water, passing it through ground coffee and a filter, and dripping the finished brew into a carafe.

  • French Press

    French Press

A French Press (or Cafetiere) is a simple, manual coffee maker that brews rich, full-bodied coffee by steeping coarse grounds in hot water, then separating them by pressing a mesh filter down with a plunger, allowing the coffee's natural oils and sediment to remain for a bolder flavour.
