What to Expect
This is Brazilian coffee doing what it does best: smooth, sweet, and deeply comforting. Moon Roast's Bossa Nova is a regional blend from the Cerrado, naturally processed to bring out brown sugar sweetness, cocoa, and hazelnut without any sharp edges.
The Cup
The body is medium to full, with a round, almost creamy mouthfeel that coats your palate gently. Acidity is low and soft, more of a gentle backdrop than a feature. This is clean natural processing, so you get the sweetness and weight of the method without any funky ferment character. It's straightforward and reliable, the kind of coffee that tastes like coffee is supposed to taste.
Who This Is For
If you want a no-fuss, everyday coffee that's sweet, nutty, and easy to drink at any time of day, this is it. If you're chasing bright, fruity acidity or floral complexity, this won't deliver that.
Best for: Anyone who wants a smooth, chocolatey cup without drama.
How to Brew This Coffee
A French Press will give you the fullest body and let the cocoa and hazelnut notes really settle in. An Aeropress brings out the brown sugar sweetness with a cleaner finish, and it's forgiving if you're still dialling in your technique. Filter methods work well too, offering a lighter, more delicate take on the same chocolatey-sweet profile.

Origin Cerrado, Minas Gerais
Varietal Mundo Novo, Catuai Blend Process Natural Altitude 950 masl Importer Volcafe Roast Profile Medium Taste Notes Belgian Brown Sugar/ Cocoa/ Hazelnut
Bossa Nova regional blend comes from Cerrado, a vast tropical savannah in the centre of Brazil that spans across almost 2 million square kilometres. It is recognized as the most biodiverse savannah in the world with approximately 10,000 different plant species. The land was long considered unsuitable for agriculture, until advances in science in the late 1990’s discovered the correct land management and fertilisation techniques for industrial agriculture in the region. Today, Cerrado is one of the most productive coffee regions in Brazil for consistently high-quality coffee.
Many of these farms are part of Volcafe Way, a unique, responsible sourcing strategy focused on generating profitable sustainability to farmers, support on social and environmental challenges and a focus on data and best practices for measurable results.
Established in 1956, Volcafe Santos works with hundreds of farmers across Cerrado, these farmers send samples to the Volcafe lab in Patrocinio where five cuppers evaluate them and purchase the lots with a focus on curating a cohesive blend. The purchased lots are then sent to the Volcafe Brazil warehouse in Varginha. The warehouse sorts the lots by screen size and removes defects ahead of the coffee being prepared for export either to the dry port in Varginha or to the port in Santos. The ‘classic Cerrado’ profile is perhaps the most well known in Brazil, and Volcafe have worked hard to develop this profile in both the regional labs and through their quality headquarters based in Santos. Each lot is selected not only on quality, but on profile, ensuring consistency year on year.

Ways to Brew
-
French Press
A French Press (or Cafetiere) is a simple, manual coffee maker that brews rich, full-bodied coffee by steeping coarse grounds in hot water, then separating them by pressing a mesh filter down with a plunger, allowing the coffee's natural oils and sediment to remain for a bolder flavour.
-
Aeropress
An innovative, portable brewing device that uses air pressure to extract coffee quickly and efficiently. This versatile method allows for experimentation with brewing times and techniques, producing anything from espresso-style concentrates to smooth, full-flavored cups with remarkable consistency.
-
Filter
A filter coffee machine (or drip coffee maker) is an often electric kitchen appliance that brews coffee by heating water, passing it through ground coffee and a filter, and dripping the finished brew into a carafe.
