How does delivery work?

Every roaster on Coffee Nerdery ships your coffee directly to you, usually roasted to order. So delivery is charged per roaster, and free delivery thresholds apply per roaster too, not across your whole basket. Order from three roasters, and each delivery is counted separately.

We know that feels unfamiliar, because the ‘everything store’ trained us all to expect free shipping on everything. But that "free" was never really free; it’s paid for by scale that small roasters can’t replicate, and margins squeezed from suppliers. Coffee Nerdery takes nothing from your postage. Every penny goes to the roaster to cover the cost of getting your coffee to you. Paying it directly is a small act of support for an independent business doing one thing exceptionally well.

What to Expect

This is Ethiopian coffee without the fireworks. Moon Roast's Beshasha from Agaro brings the floral and stone fruit character you'd hope for from a washed Ethiopian, but tempers it with almond sweetness and a treacle-like depth that keeps things grounded.

The Cup

The body is light and tea-like, which suits the delicate apricot and floral notes perfectly. Acidity is bright but not sharp — think malic rather than citric, with a juicy quality that carries the stone fruit character through the cup. This is a clean coffee. The washed process keeps everything transparent, so you're tasting the bean and the terroir, not fermentation funk. The almond and treacle notes add a gentle sweetness that rounds out the brightness without muting it.

Who This Is For

If you like Ethiopian coffees but find some too floral or too tart, this one strikes a nice balance. It's approachable enough for everyday drinking but still interesting.

If you prefer heavy-bodied, low-acid coffees with chocolate and caramel dominance, this won't be your style.

Best for: Filter drinkers who want classic Ethiopian character without the extremes.

How to Brew This Coffee

A V60 will give you the cleanest expression of the apricot and floral notes, with excellent clarity. Any filter method works well here — the washed process and light body reward gentle extraction. An Aeropress is a solid choice if you want a bit more body while keeping the brightness intact.

Moon Roast Coffee

Moon Roast was founded in 2012 by Fran Bradshaw in Hampshire, building on a rich family heritage in the coffee trade that spans generations. What began as small-scale roasting in a garden shed quickly evolved into a respected speciality coffee roastery, driven by a passion for quality and craftsmanship. Set on a repurposed farm in the Hampshire countryside, Moon Roast reflects both its rural surroundings and its deep-rooted connection to coffee history, from Fran’s great-grandfather, a London coffee broker in the early 1900s, to his father, who developed iconic coffee blends. Through daily cupping and a relentless focus on quality, Fran continues this legacy, ensuring every roast embodies precision, care, and a commitment to exceptional coffee.
