How does delivery work?

Every roaster on Coffee Nerdery ships your coffee directly to you, usually roasted to order. So delivery is charged per roaster, and free delivery thresholds apply per roaster too, not across your whole basket. Order from three roasters, and each delivery is counted separately.

We know that feels unfamiliar, because the ‘everything store’ trained us all to expect free shipping on everything. But that "free" was never really free; it’s paid for by scale that small roasters can’t replicate, and margins squeezed from suppliers. Coffee Nerdery takes nothing from your postage. Every penny goes to the roaster to cover the cost of getting your coffee to you. Paying it directly is a small act of support for an independent business doing one thing exceptionally well.

What to Expect

Stellar from Moon Roast is a washed Brazil-Colombia blend roasted medium-dark for approachability. You'll get chocolate mousse sweetness with pecan richness and a whisper of stone fruit brightness that keeps things interesting without demanding too much attention.

The Cup

The body is medium-heavy and round, with a creamy mouthfeel that suits the chocolate-forward profile. Acidity is low to moderate, soft rather than sharp, just enough to balance the sweetness without cutting through it. This is a clean cup with no ferment character or funk, the washed process and darker roast development keep everything straightforward and familiar.

Who This Is For

This suits drinkers who want something more interesting than supermarket coffee but aren't chasing floral high notes or tart acidity. It's a reliable daily drinker that works across methods without fuss.

If you prefer bright, fruit-forward coffees with pronounced acidity, this will feel too muted and heavy.

Best for: Drinkers transitioning into specialty coffee who want chocolate sweetness with a bit of complexity.

How to Brew This Coffee

The medium-dark roast makes this versatile. Espresso will bring out the chocolate mousse character with good body and crema. French Press emphasises the creamy texture and pecan notes, giving you a full-bodied cup. Aeropress offers flexibility, you can dial in for either espresso-like intensity or a cleaner filter-style cup depending on your method.

Ways to Brew

  • Espresso

    Espresso

An intense, concentrated brewing method that forces hot water through finely-ground coffee under high pressure. This produces a small, powerful shot with rich crema, serving as the foundation for countless coffee drinks while delivering bold flavors and aromatic complexity.

  • French Press

    French Press

A French Press (or Cafetiere) is a simple, manual coffee maker that brews rich, full-bodied coffee by steeping coarse grounds in hot water, then separating them by pressing a mesh filter down with a plunger, allowing the coffee's natural oils and sediment to remain for a bolder flavour.

  • Aeropress

    Aeropress

An innovative, portable brewing device that uses air pressure to extract coffee quickly and efficiently. This versatile method allows for experimentation with brewing times and techniques, producing anything from espresso-style concentrates to smooth, full-flavored cups with remarkable consistency.

Moon Roast Coffee

Moon Roast was founded in 2012 by Fran Bradshaw in Hampshire, building on a rich family heritage in the coffee trade that spans generations. What began as small-scale roasting in a garden shed quickly evolved into a respected speciality coffee roastery, driven by a passion for quality and craftsmanship. Set on a repurposed farm in the Hampshire countryside, Moon Roast reflects both its rural surroundings and its deep-rooted connection to coffee history, from Fran’s great-grandfather, a London coffee broker in the early 1900s, to his father, who developed iconic coffee blends. Through daily cupping and a relentless focus on quality, Fran continues this legacy, ensuring every roast embodies precision, care, and a commitment to exceptional coffee.
